We celebrated Heritage Day on the 24th September, a wonderful opportunity to respect and appreciate the diverse cultures of the families and the children that make up the English section.
The CE1 children from the English, German and Polish sections spent the day exploring the NaturOparC and learning about their work protecting local threatened species.
After reading about orangutans in Michael Morpurgo’s « Kensuke’s Kingdom », the CM1 children created posters to raise awareness of this endangered species.
The CM1 English classes worked on a theatre project over several weeks. They designed logos, learned theatrical techniques, rehearsed and performed a show called »Three Maori Myths » with the help of a professional director, Stephen Shagov. The project was based around three stories from New Zealand with a strong link to nature.
